Planning a coronation day street party? York council is ready to help
If you’re up for a coronation day street party, City of York Council has got you covered.
King Charles III will be crowned alongside Camilla, Queen Consort, at Westminster Abbey on 6 May.
York council has set up a digital hub for all the guidance and information residents need for holding a community street party.
The council is also waiving some of the cost for street parties being held on the day.

Groups wanting to plan a road closure for their community street party can find links to the form they need on that page. Fees will only apply for commercial events.
For a small deposit, groups can borrow ‘road closed’ signs from the council. Event licences will only be required for events which include the sale of alcohol.
