The stage is almost set. The merch is being put on display. We’re only hours away from two of the biggest gigs in York in years.
Shed Seven play the first of their two homecoming shows at Museum Gardens tonight (Friday).
And it’s going to be hot stuff on and off the stage – with temperatures still expected to be 23°C at 9pm.
Museum Gardens has been transformed into a mini-Glastonbury, with a huge stage sitting in front of the Yorkshire Museum, countless food and drink options and scores of portable toilets.
It remains open to the public till 2pm, when the gates are shut for final preparations.
The Sheds gigs, which sold out in record time, follow the first big show put on by Futuresound Events in the park.
Singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti played to a packed crowd last night.
The return of the Sheds tonight has been highly anticipated since the band first made the announcement back in October.
They said the gigs would include special guest stars, including Libertines star Peter Doherty.
The band are guaranteed a rapturous reception. Fans will be expecting banging tunes both from the Sheds’ Britpop days and their triumphant comeback, with the album A Matter Of Time hitting number one in January.

Expect some songs from the next album, Liquid Gold, due out on 27 September too.
Genius merch is also available – including the Biles Beans-style T-shirt which promises ‘Nightly Shed Seven Keeps You Healthy Bright-Eyed & Slim’!
That is £25, a limited edition York shirt is £30 and a signed limited edition poster is £25. All go on sale when the gardens open to gig goers at 5pm.
Have a great gig!
