York’s newest restaurant will get a royal opening today (Thursday).
And as our pictures show, it’s looking all spruced up ready for the visit of the King and Queen Camilla.
The York Minster Refectory, the cathedral’s new restaurant, will receive the royal guests after they have attended the Maundy service.
A new garden, with footpaths and lawned area, has been created outside the restaurant. There is also a sheltered outdoor seating area.
The York Minster Refectory team, including Andrew Pern of the Star Inn The City, and head chef Joshua Brimmell will be introduced to the royal couple.
Although today is the official opening, the restaurant won’t be open to the public till 20 April.
