Thousands of people in York and Selby looked to the skies last night (Saturday) at spectacular fireworks displays.
In York, the big event was at Rawcliffe Country Park organised by North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Ahead of the pyrotechnics, the crowd were entertained by the YorkMix Radio stage, hosted by Leigh Nicholson of the Breakfast Mix, and featuring Mixie The Monster leading young and old in a rendition of Gangam Style.
The event featured a fairground, food stalls, a performance by local band CHU MA SHU and a special fireworks display for young children.
Then the countdown came, and all thoughts of the damp conditions and mud underfoot were forgotten as the stunning fireworks set the black autumn skies ablaze.
All money raised went to The Fire Fighters Charity.
Stunning in Selby
Over in Selby, another big crowd gathered at Scott Road Community Field for the Selby Community Bonfire and Fireworks Event.
Here, YorkMix Radio’s Victoria Charles was your host.
Children enjoyed the fairground rides, there were hot dogs, candy floss and doughnuts to eat and two stunning fireworks displays.
