These pictures capture a night of music history in York.
Shed Seven stormed their 30th anniversary homecoming gig in Museum Gardens, getting a rapturous reception from a packed, sold out crowd.
Accompanied by a spectacular light show, the Sheds sent the fans into a frenzy with their greatest hits, from their original Britpop era to their brilliant new material.
York’s greatest musical exports were joined by special guests, including Rowetta, and Pete Doherty of the Libertines who was their support and duetted with Rick.
Last week, Rick and Paul visited their alma mater Huntington School, and on Friday night they were joined on stage by a choir of present students.
The 4,000-strong crowd was thrilled by the show on one of the warmest nights of the year.
Stacey Howard, who took these fabulous photographs, told YorkMix: “I’ve seen the Sheds at the Barbican, Fibbers, festivals and Shiiine On Weekenders but this was something else – just incredible.”
And they’ll do it all again tomorrow!
At the end of the gig, Shed Seven posted simply: “York ❤️ actually lost for words”.
