Fancy waking up to this view every morning?
It could be yours, and give you change from £1 million.
This is the penthouse apartment at the top of Stonebow House and it’s up for sale for a guide price of £975,000 with estate agent Strutt & Parker.
Accessed via a private entrance lobby with a lift or stairs, the split level apartment has fabulous views over the south and east of York.
If it’s chilly out, you can enjoy the vista via the full-height windows.
There are three en-suite bedrooms, and a large open living space.
The details say: “The main reception room is on the top level, where there is an open-plan layout with a 26ft sitting and dining room, surrounded by glass including full-height panoramic windows and sliding doors opening onto the private roof terrace.

“There is porcelain tiled flooring and recessed lighting, as well as a bespoke built-in media unit and storage.”
Stonebow House was built in 1964, following York’s slum clearance programme, and designed by Wells, Hickman and Partners.
Its brutalist architectural style divided opinion, with it featuring in worst building lists in the UK because of its imposing nature.
That was before the Oakgate Group redeveloped the building, stripping away some of notorious 1960s concrete exterior and replacing it with a much more modern looks.
The whole of Stonebow House, including the businesses on the ground floor, went on sale last year for £6m.
The penthouse apartment comes with two parking spaces with EV charging. But it may not be for everybody.
In his review of the renovated Stonebow House, which he described as an “icon”, writer John Mullin said: “I did hear of one lady who decided not to buy the penthouse because she was scared of scarring her Range Rover on that ramp!”
