There was drama in two parts of York today (Sunday) as armed police swooped on separate addresses.
At around 10.30am a number of police vehicles arrived at St Wulstan Close off Fossway in Heworth.
Armed officers wearing body armour were among those seen by neighbours in the street.
They targeted one property and appeared to make at least one arrest.
Then about an hour later another quiet York street was filled with police activity.
This time it was in Apollo Court off Heslington Road.
Where the raids happened
Both marked and unmarked police cars arrived with armed officers clearly visible
A witness told YorkMix: “I’m not sure what’s happened, but there’s police here appearing to prepare for a raid, there’s dogs and vans and men in black vests and padding waiting outside.”
Again they targeted a property on the street. They left at about midday.
We contacted North Yorkshire Police who said they couldn’t comment today on the police operations or say whether they were connected.
