Emergency services were called to a medical emergency outside a York supermarket today (Friday).
An ambulance and an ambulance responder went to Waitrose car park to attend to someone who had fallen ill at about 11.30am. Sadly, they died at the scene.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Trust told YorkMix: “We responded to a medical incident on Friday morning in the car park at Waitrose, Foss Islands Road in York.
“Sadly, the patient passed away at the scene.”
The police closed the car park while paramedics were working. It reopened this afternoon.
