Emergency services were called after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Selby this afternoon (Tuesday).
It happened on Bawtry Road, outside Home Bargains.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at 2.35pm. A group of people went to the aid of the pedestrian immediately after the incident.
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received an emergency call at 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon to report a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian on Bawtry Road, Selby.
“An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to York Hospital.”
There is no word yet on the condition of the casualty.
