A man died from head and chest injuries after the car he was travelling in collided with a bus, an inquest heard today.
Tristan Jack Leonard, who was 31, was in a white Tesla Model 3 car. It collided with a blue and white bus in York on Saturday 29 June this year.
North Yorkshire and York area coroner Catherine Cundy opened the inquest into his death in Northallerton this morning.
Mr Leonard, who was born in Middlesbrough, worked as a train driver. He was single.
At the time of his death, he was living in Newcastle.
Ms Cundy said that Mr Leonard was the front passenger in a vehicle involved in a road traffic collision with a bus on the A1237 York Outer Ring Road near Rufforth.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The provisional cause of death was given as head and chest injuries.
At the time of the crash, which happened at about 9.20am, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said they worked with paramedics to extricate two people from the Tesla.
Altogether, four people were taken to hospital, three from the car and the bus driver. The Tesla driver, aged 32 and from the Teesside area, suffered serious injuries.
Ms Cundy adjourned Mr Leonard’s inquest to a date to be fixed.
