A main York road is due to close from today for more than three weeks.
Tower Street is closing from 8am this morning (Sunday) to 5pm on 24 November.
It will be partially closed between its junctions with the Eye Of York near Clifford’s Tower and Paragon Street near York Barbican.
Under the scheme, full eastbound and westbound lane closures will only take place between 9pm and 5am each night.
A diversion is in place, along Fishergate, Paragon Street, Lord Mayor’s Walk and Nunnery Lane.
It will add to the challenge to road users in the area. Kent Street near the Barbican is still closed for drainage and highway resurfacing works.
Kent Street was due to reopen on 8 October, but the work has been delayed and it is set to stay shut until Sunday, 19 November.
