Police say they are dealing with a rise in trouble in Pickering.
Anti-social behaviour has increased in the town, with some youths seen on the streets till 3am on several days this month.
Ryedale Neighbourhood Policing Team have been responding to calls about youths causing a nuisance across the town.
Inspector Martin Dennison from the team said “Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. We will look to deal with incidents in a swift and robust manner.
“If there is a need to use a ‘direction to leave’ dispersal, then we will do so.”
A dispersal order can be authorised by an inspector or above. It means officers can tell a person over the age of ten to leave a specific location for a period of up to 48 hours.
An officer must have reasonable grounds to suspect the person involved has contributed or is likely to contribute to members of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed or the occurrence of crime or disorder.
