If home-made ‘crunchie’ bars are not already a thing in your house, they should be. Here’s how.
Ingredients:
- 200g caster sugar
- 5 tablespoons golden syrup
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 400g chocolate
Method
First, line a medium baking tray with parchment.

Add all of the caster sugar to a large sauce pan and put in the golden syrup. Melt this all together over a low heat.
Once all sugar is dissolved, turn the heat up, keeping stirring, until slightly golden and bubbly.
Turn the heat off and add the baking powder. Stir constantly until frothy and pale.
Keep mixing until light golden and then pour into the lined baking tin.

Let sit for an hour to an hour and a half, until rock solid.
Once set smash into bite size chunks.

Melt your chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan full of boiling water.
Carefully remove the bowl from over the water.
Dip each of the honeycomb pieces in one at a time and place on a tray to cool.
