There is no dining experience in York quite like that at Il Paradiso Del Cibo.
The Walmgate restaurant is the real Italian deal.
Presided over by the irrepressible Paolo Silesu, it exudes the spirit of Italy, from the exuberant staff to the menu to football from the home country usually playing on the big TV screen.
And although the trattoria looks quite humble from the outside, those in the know understand the food offers a true flavour of Sardinia at very reasonable prices.
The good news is, there is now another taste of paradise.
New restaurant
After the roaring success of his inner city trattoria, Paulo has moved out of town for restaurant number two.

Il Paradiso On The Forest opened a few days ago on York Road, Sutton on the Forest.
The ristorante, pizzeria, bar and grill is larger than its Walmgate sister and has a more luxurious look.
And already the reviews are looking positive.
“Had a wonderful evening and meal at the Il Paradiso On The Forest, thanks Paulo. Hope it’s a great success – you deserve it,” wrote Ruth Bell on Facebook.
