Nutcracker trail figure dumped in the river in York

One of the figures, which was part of a Christmas Nutcracker trail in York, has been dumped in the River Foss.

And another has been stolen according to York BID, which put them out on the streets to encourage visitors to explore other areas of the city.

The figures were taken from Merchantgate and Peasholme Green, and the thefts have now been reported to the police.

They will be replaced. The one in the river can’t be rescued as the water level is too high at the moment.
