Castle Howard and York Pullman have teamed up this summer to offer direct transport to the attraction from the city centre.
The special tickets will include return travel to Castle Howard, as well as entry to the house and gardens.
The partnership aims to provide a greener, car-free and convenient option for visitors who either don’t have their own transport or are travelling to York by train.
The House, Gardens and Return Travel tickets will be available each Thursday and Sunday, from Thursday 25 July to Thursday 29 August.
The Pullman’s coach will pick up visitors from York Memorial Gardens at 10am, with a 3pm pick up from Castle Howard. The coaches are wheelchair accessible.
Though the regular 81 bus service, operated by East Yorkshire Buses, travels between York Station, Castle Howard and Malton, it doesn’t run on a Sunday. The special service has been developed to help serve people who are making a trip over the weekend, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach the stately home using public transport.
Castle Howard’s visitor attraction director, Abbigail Ollive, said: “We are delighted to offer this fantastic new option just in time for the summer holidays.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to visit us and provide a more environmentally friendly and convenient alternative for people who don’t have a car, or who are travelling to York by train.”
Adult House, Gardens and Return Travel tickets are £35, and child House, Gardens and Return Travel tickets are £25.
