A North Yorkshire pub has been recognised by a top international food guide.
The Plough in Wombleton has been highlighted by the Michelin Guide for the UK & Ireland in their Best Pubs in Yorkshire guide.
The North Yorkshire village pub, run by Richard and Lindsey Johns, was also included in the world-renowned Michelin Guide in January this year for the first time.
Michelin’s review of The Plough remarked: “It’s located in the adorably named village of Wombleton, which sits in the hinterland between the North York Moors and the Howardian Hills, both brilliant areas for hikers with a fondness for spectacular scenery.
“The cooking is exactly what you’d expect to find here, in all the best ways, with straightforward dishes providing ample flavour and coming in generous portions.”
Owners Richard and Lindsey said: “We were totally over the moon to be included in the 2025 Michelin Guide, to now feature in a Michelin list of Yorkshire’s best inns is the icing on the cake, especially after recently featuring in the 2025 Estrella Damm list of the UK’s Top 100 Gastropubs for the second consecutive year.”
