Tadcaster Police Station has announced that its front counter will be closing to the general public.
The closure will take effect tomorrow (Thursday), with today being the final day of operation. But the hope is to get it reopened as soon as possible.
While the counter will not be in use, the police station, located on Station Road, will be staffed and continue its operations as normal.
North Yorkshire Police said the temporary closure is due to a member of staff leaving.
A force spokesperson said: “We are putting resources in place to re-open the front counter service at Tadcaster Police Station as soon as possible.
“Tadcaster remains an operational station, with officers based there on a 24/7 basis.”
Members of the public have been advised to visit Fulford Road Police Station in York, should they wish to speak to a member of staff during the closure.
