Police are trying to track down a man who robbed a boy at knifepoint because he has been recalled to prison.
John Paul Wilson was jailed for three and a half years in October 2019 for the crime, stealing the boy’s jewellery, Nike trainers and phone and leaving the victim in tears.
It happened outside the Ship Inn on Bondgate, Ripon.
Wilson, 23, known as JP, was released on licence on 19 May, but the Probation Service has since reported his “poor behaviour”.
He was recalled to prison on 15 September and extensive police enquiries have been ongoing to locate and arrest him.
Members of the public have been urged to report any information that could confirm Wilson’s whereabouts.
It is believed he is in the Ripon and Harrogate areas, although officially he should be living in Leeds since his release from prison.
If you have information about Wilson, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 4, and speak to the Force Control Room.
Immediate sightings should be reported via 999.
If you would prefer to remain anonymous, information can be passed to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by making an online report.
