People on holiday in Scarborough reporting hearing a loud bang – and then seeing a fire late last night (Sunday).
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service were called at 10.43pm.
A spokesperson said: “A crew from Scarborough were called to a report of a loud bang followed by a fire sighted by some holidaymakers from a mile away.
“The crews were able to see the fire from the address given and proceeded to get close to the fire that was unreachable by road.”
It turned out to be a fire to a mixture of straw and soil measuring 15m by 4m.
