North Yorkshire Police have today (Thursday) issued a brief update on the death of a woman at a campsite in the Yorkshire Dales.
Police were called at 3pm on Monday by staff at Bainbridge Ings campsite near Hawes, who had found the body in one of the camping pods on the site.
At the time officers said the death was unexplained.
A man in his forties from Lincolnshire was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.
Today, a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances around the death of a woman, whose body was found at a campsite near Hawes on Monday 12 June.
“The man who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released on conditional bail.
“We are not yet in a position to confirm the identity of the woman.”
