Homes in York have gotten their water supply back after having woken up to no water this morning. It was due to a 16inch burst water pipe in Wigginton.
Yorkshire Water posted to X: “Good news! The repair’s been done and supplies are back on. You may experience discoloured or cloudy water – this is nothing to worry about and will clear in time.”
A Yorkshire Water earlier spokesperson told YorkMix that around 4000 properties and businesses in Haxby, Wigginton, Strensall, Clifton Moor, and surrounding areas were affected.
The water was off for some homes for a number of hours.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said this morning:
“Customers in YO32 may have no water or low water pressure. We are investigating the issue and will restore supplies as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
More as we get it.
