A man will appear in court next month charged with racist offences.
Police were called to Starbucks on Coney Street on Saturday (June 2).
A 24-year-old man was arrested there and later charged with threatening behaviour including:
- causing racially aggravated fear / provocation of violence by words
- the use of threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of, or provoke, unlawful violence.
He has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at York Magistrates Court on July 19.
