More shopping choice is coming to Selby with the news that a major new supermarket will open this summer.
The Food Warehouse is to open in the former Argos store at the Three Lakes Retail Park.
Planning permission is now being sought from North Yorkshire Council for the signage of the store, which is part of the Iceland group.
An Iceland spokesperson told YorkMix: “We’re excited to announce the new The Food Warehouse Store in Selby will open in August 2024.
“This new store opening will provide local residents access to market-leading deals and big brand products, as well as offering more jobs to the community too.
“We’ll be releasing more information on the new store opening in the coming months.”
The supermarket will be recruiting in the coming weeks. Roles will be advertised at icelandcareers.co.uk.
A Food Warehouse is typically much larger than the regular Iceland stores.
“The Food Warehouse combines the convenience of bulk buying with great value fresh, frozen and ambient food deals across more than 3,000 product lines,” a company spokesperson said.
“The store also offers exclusive ‘When It’s Gone, It’s Gone’ deals, on a great selection of homeware items.”
A Food Warehouse opened at Foss Islands retail park in York in July 2021.
