You can try Arabian-inspired street food in York this summer – as a new pop-up has arrived at Spark.
Waqif Arabian Kitchen has opened at the Piccadilly venue, and is serving up an array of delicious Arabian-inspired dishes – such as shawarma, loaded houmus, and kofta.
The new kitchen will be open at Spark from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 July, Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July, Tuesday 29 July to Sunday 3 August, and Friday 15 to Sunday 24 August.
Established in 2025, the venture from chef Tom aims to bring ‘bold, authentic Gulf-inspired flavours to a wider UK audience in a way that feels fresh, accessible, and contemporary.’
The ‘elevated’ street food dishes include signature chicken shawarma bowl (£14.95), lamb, apricot and pistachio kofta (£14.95), loaded houmus (£9.95), spicy beef arayes (beef stuffed pitta breads, £14.95), and Dubai chocolate ice cream sundae (£7.95).
The pop-up has opened today (Friday), so make sure to head on down to Spark this summer to travel with your tastebuds from York to Doha.
