New shop revealed for York Monks Cross
A new shop is due to open in Monks Cross in York.
Claire’s is preparing to move in to the shopping centre, documents reveal.
The jewellery and accessories brand has plans to convert one of the standalone units that sit in front of the walkway into an outlet.
According to a location plan, it would be front of JD Sports, next to Holland and Barrett – although a unit in front of TK Maxx is also pictured in the documents.
Plans have been submitted to City of York Council to put up the distinctive purple Claire’s sign, and decorate the sides of the unit with graphic photo vinyls.
According to the documents, the Monk’s Cross Claire’s would have a retail sales area of 790 sq ft, and include a central cash and wrapping desk, tower displays and a piercing studio.
At the moment, there are two Claire’s shops in York – one in the city centre on Parliament Street, and another in the Designer Outlet.
Claire’s describes itself as “a global brand powerhouse for self-expression, creating exclusive, curated and fun fashionable jewellery and accessories, and offering world-leading piercing services”.
It operates 2,300 stores in 17 countries across Europe and North America.
