A new shop has open on Shambles – the first in the units vacated by the ‘outsider’ Harry Potter shops.
Hardy Feral is at the Pavement end of the famous York street.
It takes over in the unit that was previously home to The Enchanted Galaxy, one of three stores opened by the Edinburgh-based Gold Brothers company to cash in on the popularity of The Shop That Must Not Be Named.
Hardy Feral is also a Gold Brothers brand. It sells cashmere and lambswool products, from sweaters to scarves to handbags.
The shop has been given a stylish makeover.
Hardy Feral is looking to recruit a permanent part-time supervisor, offering “a great opportunity to build new skills and work with premium brands”.
Anyone interested can apply in-store with their CV.
The two other stores vacated by the Gold Brothers – Galaxy Of Geek and Geek Outlet – remain empty.
They traded for a few years on the street in an attempt to cash in on the hugely popular, York-owned Harry Potter store The Shop That Must Not Be Named.
Copyright disputes with Warner Bros over the Harry Potter names forced the retailers to rename its wizard outlets, which were originally called The Boy Wizard and The World of Wizardry.
There are two other vacant stores on Shambles, which were previously home to Paperesque and Zatchels.
YorkMix understands an offer is in for at least one of these units.
