If you’ve been to Monks Cross lately, you can’t have failed to notice big changes underway.

It is part of the shopping centre’s revamp, which is seeing some of its bigger units repackaged for smaller stores.

Already Mothercare has moved in. Now we know that two other famous High Street names are to open at the Huntington Centre.

The newest shop to be revealed is Card Factory.

Suppliers of cards, gifts and party goods, the store is set to open in a corner unit.

Meanwhile work continues apace on the new food units in front of one row of the shops.

These will house various foodie options – and one of them will be Greggs, planning documents reveal.

It’s all part of the changes brought in at Monks Cross after the shock news in March 2018 that five stores were leaving.

And it comes as the new York Stadium at nearby Vangarde prepares to welcome its own restaurants, including TGI Fridays.
