A new restaurant is due to open in York soon offering ‘great value, healthy Vietnamese food’.
Pho is now working to transform number 75 Low Petergate into its York home.
This will be the chain’s 36th restaurant. The closest one to York before now was at Trinity in Leeds.
Number 75 Low Petergate has been home to a number of restaurants over the years.
For a long time it was the Italian venue Strada, but it closed in 2018.
The following year it became the Wagyu Bar and Grill, a beef-based restaurant opened by the team at Warrendale Farm, near Pocklington.
In February 2020, a month before the pandemic, it reopened as The Old House, following an £80K refurbishment. It was owned by the Shoot The Bull hospitality group, which also ran the Hull Truck Theatre restaurant.
Work is now underway to convert it into a Pho Restaurant, with the opening likely at the start of next month.
On the menu, expect Vietnamese salads, wok fried noodles, curry and more. Drinks include wine, beer, fruit juices, pop, tea and Vietnamese coffee.
