Plans are in for a new restaurant on a foodie York street.
It would be an Asian-style barbecue on Swinegate.
No name has yet been revealed for the venture.
But according to a licensing application submitted by Diefen Liang, who has previously run York take-away food business Kuang Niu, it will operate on the upper floor of 33a Swinegate.
The lower floor was previously home to the Geoffrey Stuart hair salon, which closed in January 2019.
And it will be next door to the Hong Kong Chop House, which hit the headlines in 2020 when its then owner was banned from running a food business over multiple hygiene breaches.
There is no suggestion that the new restaurant is connected to the Chop House.
The new restaurant has applied to sell alcohol daily from 12pm to 9.30pm. It would stay open till 10pm each day.
Anyone wanting to comment on the licensing application has until 19 July to do so.
