A striking new laser show will feature at York’s big bonfire and firework display on Saturday (November 4).

The addition of the laser show is thanks to sponsorship from York’s Ultra Fibre Optic from TalkTalk.

Organised by the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, the event at Rawcliffe Country Park will include a large bonfire, a professionally organised firework display, the laser show, food stalls, bars, live music and a funfair.

The event is the largest Fire Fighters Charity event in North Yorkshire and is expected to draw the biggest ever crowd since it started four years ago.

More details

Watch manager at Harrogate Fire Station Bruce Reid said: “Building on the success of the last four years, we wanted to make this year’s extravaganza even bigger and better.

“The support of TalkTalk means we have been able to put on a larger professional pyrotechnic display and include a laser show!”

Last year, around 5,000 people attended raising more than £14,000 for The Fire Fighters charity. Organisers are expecting to exceed that figure on Saturday.

Richard Sinclair, TalkTalk General Manager for York’s Ultra Fibre Optic, said: “We are really proud to be supporting such a great community event bringing together the residents of Rawcliffe and the rest of York and we are really looking forward to the evening, especially the laser show!

“We’re committed to investing in York as we bring the UK’s fastest and most reliable Ultra Fibre Optic broadband to homes and businesses, helping to transform York into a digital city.”
