Two leading fashion names are about to open new stores at York Designer Outlet.
Shopaholics will be hotfooting it to the Naburn centre on hearing that global footwear brand Skechers is one of them.
With styles for men, women and kids, Skechers brings a bit of Californian colour to both lifestyle and performance shoes.
It will open its 1,600 sq ft store in unit 54 on the south mall on Friday (March 6), creating 15 jobs.
The brand joins existing leading footwear names at the centre, including Clarks, Ecco and sportswear favourites Nike and Adidas.
Calvin goes large
And on Saturday (March 7), Calvin Klein will open its new store at the centre. Already a popular brand there, it is relocating to a bigger, 3,000sq ft unit which brings together its lingerie and denim lines.
On sale here will be CK Jeans, known for their omega-stitched pockets and directional cuts, as well as the famous underwear for men and women, most recently modelled by pop singer Justin Bieber and supermodel Lara Stone.
Centre manager at McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet Mike Thomas said he was “elated” by the new stores.
The outlet now has more than 120 fashion, accessories and lifestyle brands.
It experienced a till-busting Christmas and winter sales period. Total sales for the weekdays before Christmas were up by 21 per cent, and like for like sales from Boxing Day to January 4 up by 13 per cent.
