New Covid vaccination clinic to open in York
York’s independent pharmacy group Citywide Health is opening a Covid vaccination service.
The group will become the first community pharmacy in North Yorkshire to provide the service from their new clinic in Haxby.
It will vaccinate 1,000 patients every week after its launch on 25 February.
A spokesperson said: “Initially our clinics will be held in Haxby at our new clinic at 6 Wyre Court, which is straight across the road from Citywide Health – Haxby Pharmacy.
“Invites for the clinics will be sent out nationally by the NHS, giving you access to the booking system.”

More clinics to follow
Six of Citywide Health’s pharmacists have already been providing vaccinations to York’s most vulnerable residents at the Askham Bar centre.
Richard Harrison, Citywide Health’s pharmacist director was appointed as Chief Pharmacist at the site in November, and has helped oversee the vaccination of more than 60,000 patients to date.
Citywide Health have been commissioned to deliver this service by NHS England, which will provide easy access to local residents.
A spokesperson said: “As a group of seven pharmacies in Haxby, Huntington, Poppleton, Tower Court at Clifton Moor, Water End, Bishopthorpe Road and Fulford, we are the best placed pharmacy provider in York to deliver this service.”
It is hoped that Citywide Health will roll out the service to all its pharmacies in York in the coming months.
