It’s geek-tastic news – as a new comic con event is coming to York this weekend.
Created by Monopoly Events, Comic Con Mania promises a whole day of nerdy fun.
There will be several celebrity guests in attendance too – including Star Wars and Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis.
Comic Con Mania will be taking place at York Barbican on Saturday 1 June from 11am.
Warwick Davis has had a long and varied career. He starred as Wicket the Ewok in the Star Wars series, Willow Ulfgood in Willow and both Professor Filius Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter films.
The actor and television presenter is best known for his supporting and starring roles in huge film and TV franchises like Star Wars, Harry Potter and Willow.
He will be attending the event with his two children.
Eastenders actor Craig Fairbrass, Brian Herring, the puppeteer behind Star Wars droid BB-8, and The Witcher‘s Steven Hartley will also be attending the event, with photograph and autograph opportunities.
As well as media guests, the day of geeky fun will also include a cosplay competition and parade, gaming, traders, set builds and props from your favourite TV series and movies, workshops, Q&As and much more.
