Black Swan Inn, Peasholme Green, York
Sat Jul 4 & Sun Jul 5 2015
£5 in advance
A brand new comedy festival is taking place in York next month, courtesy of the Burning Duck Comedy Club.
The two-day event, called Woodsduck, will present a range of talent from the comedy world at the Black Swan Inn and will be an extension of the popular show held by the group every Tuesday fortnight.
Acts involved in the festival include Matthew Kelly, Rob Auton and Seymour Mace, with a full line-up released soon.
The festival promoters say:
Advance tickets are £5 for the ten shows. It’s free entry for any seats left over, with a bucket collection for contributions at the end.
Organiser Al Greaves said he thought the festival presented a good opportunity for him to present his own take on comedy.
“It’s an opportunity to try and reach out to more people,” he told YorkMix.
“It should be a really good event.”
Tickets will be available soon.
The news means this is shaping up to be the funniest summer York’s had for many a year. The Great Yorkshire Fringe will bring many more stand-ups to the city during a ten-day stay on Parliament Street from July 24.
