New clothes shop and tattoo parlour planned for York city centre
A new business is soon set to start trading in York city centre.
Plans submitted to City of York Council say that 24 Goodramgate will soon be turned into a clothes shop and tattoo parlour.
Until recently it was home to the Ello Flower florists, which has recently relocated.
Documents say that there will still be a shop at the front of the ground floor, with a tattooist at the rear.
“The proposal is to use the shop with retail at the front selling clothing, and art with tattooing taking place at the rear of the shop,” the plans say.
“No alterations to the structure of the building is necessary, there are no original features left within the shop.
“No alteration of the shop front is required. The reduction of retail floor space will be negligible with most tattoos being done on a desk and chair at the rear.”
The opening hours will be 10am to 6pm.
Number 24 is a grade II listed building. It had been a florists for 17 years.
