A new cafe has recently opened up in York – and it’s going down a treat.
Bruberrie Cafe & Bar, located on The Mount, opened last month and has already received a warm welcome from the community.
Serving up breakfasts, light bites, main meals, afternoon tea and a large drinks menu, this is a great spot for a leisurely brunch, a quick coffee break, or a get together with friends and family.
YorkMix spoke to Bruberrie to find out more about the cafe, and how the first month of opening has gone.
“The inspiration behind opening the café stemmed from a love for bringing people together over great food and drinks,” said a spokesperson for Bruberrie. “We wanted to create a cozy, welcoming space where individuals could relax, socialise, and enjoy delicious offerings.
“We’re passionate about showcasing local ingredients and unique flavours, supporting our community, and fostering a sense of connection.
“When visitors step into our café, they can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like a home away from home.”
The wide and varied food menu includes breakfast delights such as a Full English (£11.95), Smashed Avocado & Salmon Toast (£8.50), and Turkish Eggs (£9.50). For main meals for lunch there’s Caribbean-style Chickpea Curry (£9.95), Zatar Chicken (£13.95), Piri Piri Salmon (£13.95), to name just a few to tempt your tastebuds.
As well as your typical coffee menu, there’s also some unique drink options such as the Matcha Mango Latte (£5.95), Rose Latte (£5.95), and Gianduja Rocher Shake (£5.95).
So far, it’s been going down a treat with five-star reviews on Instagram, Facebook and TripAdvisor. “We’re incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and love we’ve received from our community during our first month of operations.
“Responses have been very favourable, with many customers praising us for the special experience, welcoming ambience we’ve put together.
“Each valuable piece of feedback, word of encouragement, and gesture of support has meant the world to us. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share their experiences and support us online.”
Bruberrie is currently open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 4pm, and Sunday from 8am to 3pm. However, they have plans in the near future to extend their hours to an evening offering too.
The new cafe has created six jobs.
