First Bus in York has secured a new contract to operate services for the University of York.
The operator was successful following a tendering process by the university and will run services for the next five years.
Two new services are being introduced too.
They are:
- U3 operates between Barbican, Fulford Road, Halifax College and Campus East Interchange
- U4 is a weekend-only service to Designer Outlet, Fulford Road and Campus East Interchange.
The previous 66 and 67 Services have been renamed U1 and U2 respectively. A UN1 service replaces to N67 ‘clubbers bus’ and will now operate in both directions from midnight until 04:22am.
Free shuttles will continue to connect key campus learning facilities and the Students’ Union.
