Food lovers of York, keep a look out for a new restaurant set to open this spring.
Plans have emerged for a Vietnamese-inspired restaurant to take up residency on George Hudson Street.
The venue is set to be called Viet Bistro, according to plans submitted to City of York Council.
The 1,200 sq ft venue, advertised on a lease of £19,500 per year, was perviously occupied by an Indigo Sun Tanning salon.
This will be only the second Vietnamese-inspired restaurant to open in York, following Coto Kitchen which launched in 2018.
The Viet Bistro front will have a colour scheme of red, yellow and dark grey, according to planning documents.
George Hudson Street is already home to several Asian infused restaurants. When it opens, Viet Bistro will neighbour Hai Zhong Lao Chinese Hot Pot & BBQ. The restaurant became famous last year for being the first in the city to have robot waiters.
Viet Bistro is set to open from May 2022.
Indigo Sun Tanning opened in the building in August 2018 but has since moved out. A branch is open in Heslington.
