Eden Service Station near Malton will open tomorrow (Thursday 3 April), and will mark the occasion by naming Ryedale Special Families as its chosen charity partner.
The team at Eden Service Station will support the charity with a series of fundraising activities and events throughout the year. The first of these will take place on Saturday 12 April, when a Family Fun Day will be held at the service station to celebrate its recent opening.
Representatives of the charity will be attending on the day and there will be a raffle and collection boxes in store to kick-start the fundraising campaign.
Meanwhile, the first 100 customers to visit the service station on the Family Fun Day will receive a free goodie bag.
There will also be free face-painting; giveaways, including vouchers for free coffee; and a series of in-store games and competitions offering customers the chance to win instant prizes; and much more besides.

Russell Foster, Area Manager for Jos Richardson & Son, said: “I live in Ryedale and we’ve recently employed 16 new members of staff for Eden Service Station from the local area so, as a company, it’s really important to us that we support and play an active role in the life of our local community.
“We couldn’t think of a more deserving good cause to name as our chosen charity partner than Ryedale Special Families, which does so much fantastic work to support the families of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs across Ryedale. We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with them and are in the process of planning a series of fundraising activities over the coming months.”
Russell added: “We hope to see as many local people as possible at our Family Fun Day, when there will lots of competitions and giveaways, as well as the first of our fundraising activities for Ryedale Special Families.”
Lisa Keenan, Chief Officer of Ryedale Special Families, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be named Eden Service Station’s charity partner. Working with the local community is very important to Ryedale Special Families and this will support our vital work with families with disabled children.

“We are looking forward to the Family Fun Day on 12 April to celebrate the opening of the new service station and mark the start of what we hope will be a fantastic community partnership between Eden Service Station and Ryedale Special Families.”
