A teenager was sexually assaulted by a man near York on Monday night, police have revealed.
Detectives say the assault happened “in a remote rural location”.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers quickly identified, located and arrested the suspect just a few hours later.”
As a result, a man appeared at York Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, 13 July).
He is Jason McCracken, 28, of Commercial Street, Norton, Malton.
He was charged with sexual assault and two counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
The man has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at York Crown Court on 8 August.
