Can you help us solve the mystery of York’s night-time drummer?
Elliot Davies got in touch with YorkMix about something rather strange and unsettling.
He asked: “I wonder if other readers living in the Clifton Green area have also heard someone walking round the streets every Saturday night, around 2am-4am, banging a drum slowly, on and off for about 20 seconds?
“It’s quite deliberate and creepy.
“I haven’t seen anyone yet, but sometimes it seems very close. Is it some sort of folk or religious thing? A political protest? Or just anti-social behaviour?”
He said it sounds like a hand-held shallow drum, like a tambour or bodhran. And it’s now happened on consecutive Saturday nights.
Have you heard it too? Do you know the source? Drop us a line via [email protected] or a comment on our Facebook post.
We’d love to solve the mystery of York’s night-time drummer…
