Musicians and poets join forces for Oxjam Festival 2014

York is set to party all day and night on Saturday, August 9 as the Spread Eagle on Walmgate hosts an event for this year’s Oxjam Festival.

Oxjam is a national month of gigs raising money for Oxfam.

The Spread and friends are throwing themselves into the spirit with a festival of beer, a barbecue, Jamaican Street food and loads of music, from noon until late at night.

Seventeen artists are playing and there are DJ sets from the Common People residents as well as Northside frontman Dermo.

Live poets on the day include Stu Freestone, Amy May Ellis and JB Barrington.

Free entry to the event but all donations small or large are welcome.
