Multi award-winning singer songwriter Neil Sedaka will be coming to the York Barbican this autumn – and tickets go on sale from Friday (February 28).
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen and Laughter In The Rain are just three of around 1,000 songs he has written for himself and others, selling millions of records in the process.
Sedaka’s numerous honours include a Grammy, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, inductions into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame and a Brooklyn street name.
In 2006, he received the UK’s Guinness Award for Best Selling Single of the 21st Century after (Is This The Way To) Amarillo, originally written for Tony Christie 40 years ago, returned to the charts courtesy of Peter Kay and Comic Relief.
Other Sedaka favourites include Oh Carol, Calendar Girl and Little Devil.
Elvis Presley, Andy Williams, Connie Francis and the Carpenters are among the big names to have had hits with Sedaka songs.
He appears at the York Barbican on Saturday, October 25, 2014.
Tickets for the show go on sale on Friday, February 28, priced from £45.
