A music festival that will ‘transcend generations’ is set to return to the historic Lotherton Hall this summer.
The country house and estate, near Leeds, will once again host The Baby Band Music Festival – featuring a fabulous line-up of live bands that will have everyone from toddlers to grandparents tapping their feet.
It will take place on Sunday 21 July from 11am to 6.30pm.
The inaugural event last year attracted thousands of visitors for a day of family fun and live music. YorkMix will once again be hosting the stage, and are media partners with the event.
This year, the line-up includes North Yorkshire’s contemporary New Orleans inspired brass band New York Brass Band, acoustic duo Reciprocal, four-piece band Undercovered, the Manchester Indie Choir, and 1920’s swing and jazz band Alligator Gumbo.
Baby Band was set up in 2021 by husband and wife team, Peter and Charlotte Hill. The festival is born out of the success of the Baby Band music classes and gigs which currently run in 14 venues and four nurseries across York, Selby, North Leeds and Wetherby.
“At the heart of Baby Band is the belief that music is for everyone, regardless of age,” explained Charlotte.
“Our mission is to introduce the magic of live music to children from the earliest age possible and create moments where families can bond over the joy of a shared beat.
“We’re excited to be staging our second Baby Band Music Festival – a musical extravaganza for all ages and can’t wait to welcome guests.”
Alongside the music, there will also be an artisan market filled with local crafters and makers, children’s activities such as dance workshops, forest school and circus skills sessions, and an array of tasty food and drink on offer too.
