Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a York man.
Stephen Eastwood was assaulted and seriously injured on Lawrence Street in March 2012.
Stephen never recovered from his injuries and died in May 2014, aged 47.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police’s Major Crime Unit launched a murder investigation. On Monday morning (September 15) they arrested two people on suspicion of murder.
A man, aged 42, and a woman, aged 28, remain in police custody for questioning.
Stephen’s family have been informed of the arrests.
Stephen, who had no fixed address, was attacked with what police believe was a hammer on Tuesday, March 27 2012.
He was left in a coma after the attack.
