Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man died in Selby today (Thursday).
Police were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Millgate shortly before 1.15am. Paramedics also went to the scene.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police can confirm that a man was pronounced dead at the property and this is currently being treated as a murder investigation.
“A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
“The man remains in police custody.”
