Police say ‘multiple tickets’ were issued in an operation to check on York taxi services.
Officers from the North Yorkshire force, from British Transport Police and City of York Council licensing officers were involved in the joint inspections.
It was centred on York Station.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the work was “aimed at ensuring the safety and compliance of taxi services in York.
“During the operation, multiple tickets were issued, and drivers received valuable advice to help them stay compliant with the relevant regulations.
“This joint effort reflects our ongoing commitment to public safety, as officers carried out inspections, checked vehicle licensing, and ensured all taxis meet the necessary standards to give you peace of mind when travelling.”
It follows a similar operation in January, when 11 drivers and their vehicles were inspected. Three drivers were issued with suspension notices which were for tyre defects and being unable to produce a driver’s badge.
