Updated: No serious injuries after a three-car collision on York ring road

A three-car collision in York caused travel problems in York this morning (Thursday).

Emergency services went to the scene on the A1237 at Upper Poppleton.

The ring road was partially blocked both ways due to the incident.

It caused congestion from the A59 junction at Upper Poppleton to the A19 Shipton Road junction at Rawcliffe.

Police say one person was slightly hurt.

A spokeswoman for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “We were called at 8.11am this morning to reports of a road traffic collision on the A1237 close to Nether Poppleton, York.

“We dispatched an ambulance to the scene, but no-one required conveyance to hospital.”
