The Met Office has issued two weather warnings that cover York and North Yorkshire today (Sunday).
A yellow warning for strong winds is in effect from 10pm tonight (Sunday, 26 January) to 7am tomorrow.
And a yellow warning for rain runs from 8am today to 6am tomorrow.
The wind warning says: “A brief spell of strong winds, moving northeastwards from the south coast from Sunday evening, may lead to some disruption.”
And the rain warning states: “Spells of heavy rain may lead to some local flooding during Sunday and Monday.”
It comes just two days after Storm Éowyn caused widespread disruption.
Spanish meteorologists have dubbed the latest bout of bad weather Storm Herminia, as the European country will feel the strongest winds.
Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey said: “This is certainly going to be a notch down compared to Eowyn, whilst there is the potential for 60 to 70mph gusts of wind across the very far south west generally, we’re not going to be seeing the same strengths of winds as we have seen over the last couple of days.”
